Historic building watching briefs

Historic building watching briefs are increasingly required during the refurbishment, renovation and total or partial demolition of historic structures.  They are commonly required when there is potential for new information or evidence for the construction sequence and historic development of a building to be exposed or impacted during development.

FAS Heritage has deployed staff to a wide range of historic building watching briefs including discrete buildings such as boathouses to large industrial complexes subject to demolition.  In some instances, the recording of a building has been a prerequisite of planning permission and our watching brief service interfaces with our other historic building services.
